The Energy Code: BioBlue, Evolved: Deuterium-Depleted Water, 10× NMN, Taurine—and a Smarter PBM Stack
In this episode of The Energy Code, Dr. Michael Belkowski unveils the biggest BioBlue upgrade yet. Every liquid formula now uses Light Water (10 ppm deuterium-depleted water) and adds taurine (100 mg/serving) for membrane stability and longevity signaling. NMN is boosted 10× (to 100 mg per serving, twice daily) to meaningfully raise NAD, support mitochondrial biogenesis, and enhance synergy with methylene blue. Trace colloidal gold and silver are tuned upward for cleaner redox flow and photodynamic resonance, while fulvic acid (Wujinsan) is gently reduced for tighter electron control. You’ll also hear timing on pre-Black Friday deals, a site relaunch, subscription grandfathering, and the new BioBlue “Lite” options for a simpler, lower-price formula.
00;00;00;00 - 00;00;33;14
00;00;33;14 - 00;00;57;05
Dr. Mike Belkowski: What’s going on, everybody? Thanks for joining me on another episode of The Energy Code. Well, at the time of release of this episode, it’s almost Halloween. Things are getting spooky. Shortly thereafter, we’re flipping the calendar to November, which is crazy. But with that being said, ’tis the holiday season.
00;00;57;05 - 00;01;05;20
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Over the past decade plus, we’ve transitioned from having Black Friday right after Thanksgiving to having pre–Black Friday.
00;01;05;20 - 00;01;12;20
Dr. Mike Belkowski: That’s the new standard and that’s what we’ve been doing at BioLight for a couple of years now. So if you want to hear
00;01;12;20 - 00;01;34;25
Dr. Mike Belkowski: the specials and the dates and times of the BioLight pre–Black Friday event, listen to the ad toward the middle of this episode and the details will be there for you. And then secondarily, before we get into the juicy information of this episode, I just want to make a quick reminder again.
00;01;34;25 - 00;01;38;26
Dr. Mike Belkowski: If you’re listening to this episode on the day it’s released, or at least
00;01;38;26 - 00;02;00;10
Dr. Mike Belkowski: the first or second day, this is your last opportunity to get BioMinerals with the 20% discount plus the subscription discount if you so choose. Again, with that option, you’re getting 30% off for your subscription for every single delivery, as long as you keep that subscription active.
00;02;00;12 - 00;02;20;07
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So the discount code to get that 20% off—and again, you can use that 20% off just for a single purchase; it doesn’t have to be with a subscription, but you get to tack on that extra 10% with a subscription—use discount code MINERALPODCAST (one word), and that’ll get you that discount and include the subscription discount if you so choose.
00;02;20;09 - 00;02;24;11
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So just a quick reminder there, and then one last
00;02;24;11 - 00;02;32;29
Dr. Mike Belkowski: announcement, I suppose, before we get into today’s information. And that is: Dawn and I and other
00;02;32;29 - 00;03;04;05
Dr. Mike Belkowski: parts of the BioLight team—we’ve been working feverishly behind the scenes to fully revamp and redesign the website. We want to make it more user-friendly. We want to make, if you’re looking just for education and information, that more accessible. If you’re looking for certain types of products, and even when you’re on the product pages, just the flow and the user experience in terms of learning and gathering information on a particular product—that’s going to become significantly improved; the user experience, that is—and the interface is going
00;03;04;05 - 00;03;19;07
Dr. Mike Belkowski: to look and feel a lot more user-friendly, a lot cleaner. And so the overall BioLight experience online is going to be greatly enhanced. And so again, at the time of this recording, that new website will be launching,
00;03;19;07 - 00;03;25;17
Dr. Mike Belkowski: could be within days, but certainly within the next week that this episode is dropping. So we’ll make a
00;03;25;17 - 00;03;30;01
Dr. Mike Belkowski: reminder or an alert through the BioLight newsletter and through social media.
00;03;30;04 - 00;03;37;00
Dr. Mike Belkowski: But you guys will be the first to hear that official announcement. So one of the perks of being
00;03;37;00 - 00;03;54;14
Dr. Mike Belkowski: a loyal listener to The Energy Code: you get the tidbits before they officially drop in the public purview. Okay, so we have the pre–Black Friday sale announcement; we have BioMinerals 20% discount about to end; we have the new website and new product pages about to launch.
00;03;54;17 - 00;04;19;27
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So let’s get into today’s main topic. And it’s about BioBlue. So I first launched—we had our flagship BioBlue product launch over two years ago at this point. It was in the summer, late summer/early fall, of 2023. And it was this beautiful blend—and is this beautiful blend—of ingredients, not just methylene blue and water.
00;04;19;29 - 00;04;25;16
Dr. Mike Belkowski: I wanted to develop and bring something to the market that was more comprehensive for
00;04;25;16 - 00;04;42;02
Dr. Mike Belkowski: the mitochondria. Not that methylene blue by itself isn’t that, but again, I wanted to produce and bring something a little more well-rounded to the market. So that’s where I incorporated nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), which is a very
00;04;42;02 - 00;04;48;20
Dr. Mike Belkowski: popular NAD⁺ precursor. NAD⁺ plays a huge role inside of the mitochondria for energy production.
00;04;48;26 - 00;04;56;20
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So when people start taking NMN, it can be energizing, given what it does inside the mitochondria. So I wanted to add that
00;04;56;20 - 00;05;08;21
Dr. Mike Belkowski: to complement methylene blue—again, not redundant. Those two work and operate and enhance the mitochondria in different ways. Then I wanted to add different aspects,
00;05;08;21 - 00;05;18;14
Dr. Mike Belkowski: or different ingredients, to enhance the photodynamic capability of the methylene blue while having their own physiological properties.
00;05;18;14 - 00;05;40;29
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So we added colloidal silver, colloidal gold, and—to bring it all home, and you guys know I’m a huge fan of this, especially based on the BioMinerals podcast from a couple of weeks ago—we added Wujinsan purified fulvic acid. So that’s always been in our BioBlue liquid products. And again, just a quick recap:
00;05;41;00 - 00;05;43;27
Dr. Mike Belkowski: The fulvic acid really helps
00;05;43;27 - 00;05;58;00
Dr. Mike Belkowski: enhance the absorption of whatever you take with the fulvic acid. So it just drives everything deeper into the cell—better absorption, better bioavailability. And so whenever possible, I try to add fulvic acid into our supplements. And if it can’t be this
00;05;58;00 - 00;05;59;14
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Wujinsan
00;05;59;14 - 00;06;01;26
Dr. Mike Belkowski: liquid fulvic acid,
00;06;02;04 - 00;06;11;11
Dr. Mike Belkowski: then we use a high-quality Shilajit powder, such as we use in the Fountain of Youth BioBlue Fountain of Youth capsules.
00;06;11;11 - 00;06;15;16
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So by utilizing the Shilajit, then we’re getting
00;06;15;16 - 00;06;22;16
Dr. Mike Belkowski: a good amount of fulvic acid and, to a lesser degree, humic acid—but fulvic and humic acids thanks to that Shilajit powder.
00;06;22;18 - 00;06;43;23
Dr. Mike Belkowski: And so again, thanks to that fulvic acid from the Shilajit powder, everything in that Fountain of Youth capsule will be better absorbed and better utilized physiologically. So that has been the flagship BioBlue liquid product. And then from that, we expanded to Lucho Methylene Blue (sustained-release). And even still to this day, I think we’re one of the only
00;06;43;23 - 00;06;50;15
Dr. Mike Belkowski: companies to offer a legitimate pharmaceutical-grade Lucho methylene blue product. From that,
00;06;50;18 - 00;07;04;29
Dr. Mike Belkowski: there became this very cool, just happenstance situation where people started taking like half of the dose with methylene blue, half of the dose with Lucho methylene blue—just kind of experimenting, but also seeing some very cool
00;07;04;29 - 00;07;07;28
Dr. Mike Belkowski: concentration, focus—like extended
00;07;07;28 - 00;07;15;22
Dr. Mike Belkowski: focus and concentration—by doing half and half. And that’s where the BioBlue SR came from, which is a 50/50 blend of methylene blue and
00;07;15;28 - 00;07;42;00
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Lucho methylene blue. That “SR” stands for sustained release. So you get the early instantaneous bioavailability of the Lucho methylene blue, and then over the hours after you take it you get a breakdown and utilization of the methylene blue. Also, you still have those photodynamic capabilities of that dark-blue pigment of the methylene blue, whereas if you’re taking straight Lucho methylene blue you might lose some of that capability.
00;07;42;02 - 00;07;57;23
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So it’s almost like the best of both worlds with the SR. And then lastly, we came out with BioBlue Calm, and I developed that specifically because when we initially launched that flagship BioBlue product, there were
00;07;57;23 - 00;08;01;24
Dr. Mike Belkowski: reports—got feedback—that when people were taking their
00;08;01;24 - 00;08;03;26
Dr. Mike Belkowski: evening dosage (because you want to take
00;08;03;26 - 00;08;14;01
Dr. Mike Belkowski: methylene blue twice per day—typically 10 to 15 mg twice per day, once in the morning, once in the late afternoon/early evening-ish),
00;08;14;04 - 00;08;36;27
Dr. Mike Belkowski: that’s the traditional dosage—so I was getting feedback that people taking their evening dosage would experience increased energy, of course, but the interesting feedback was people were getting restless-leg-like symptoms. So of course that would keep them up, but in a different way. So it became apparent to me that, even just with
00;08;36;27 - 00;08;39;29
Dr. Mike Belkowski: this quick feedback from people after BioBlue being out,
00;08;39;29 - 00;08;57;17
Dr. Mike Belkowski: being out for a short period of time, that there should be a recipe or a supplement with methylene blue that actually fosters restful sleep and doesn’t leave you drowsy or “hung over,” if you will, the next morning—which can happen with a lot of these
00;08;57;17 - 00;09;05;17
Dr. Mike Belkowski: sleep agents and sleep aids. So that’s why I developed BioBlue Calm. We integrated six herbs and minerals:
00;09;05;17 - 00;09;27;13
Dr. Mike Belkowski: ashwagandha, valerian root, kava, passionflower, magnesium glycinate, and magnesium L-threonate. All six of those, in some way, shape, or form, either reduce cortisol levels and/or improve GABA synthesis. So a very calming, relaxing combination of compounds.
00;09;27;16 - 00;09;36;17
Dr. Mike Belkowski: And I liken it to a heavy blanket for your nervous system. It just promotes very restful, natural, organic
00;09;36;17 - 00;09;45;13
Dr. Mike Belkowski: falling asleep and makes your eyelids heavy. And again, the point of it is not just to promote restful sleep, but doing so while still getting that second
00;09;45;13 - 00;09;53;04
Dr. Mike Belkowski: dose of methylene blue in. So that’s a brief history of the BioBlue liquids.
00;09;53;06 - 00;10;17;20
Dr. Mike Belkowski: The subsequent year we released the capsules, but for the point of this conversation, it’s about the liquids. So that has been our standard recipe for a couple of years now for the BioBlue liquids for all four. So the purpose of today’s conversation is to go over the new, updated, and upgraded formula of the BioBlue liquids.
00;10;17;23 - 00;10;45;26
Dr. Mike Belkowski: This has been a long time coming. Again, a lot of research, a lot of thought, a lot of logistics and formulation work has gone into the new, upgraded versions of all of these BioBlue supplements. So just right off the bat, there’s no changes to the methylene blue. Of course, we’re keeping that at 10 milligrams per dosage. And of course, with the liquids you can tincture that up or down to your desired dosage.
00;10;45;26 - 00;10;49;03
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So there’s no change to that—still pharmaceutical grade; still
00;10;49;03 - 00;11;13;14
Dr. Mike Belkowski: the best quality methylene blue you can find on the market. But that is the only ingredient that remains the same. Everything else has been updated and upgraded in one way, shape, or form. So let’s begin with the one you guys probably know, as it was mentioned in an interview about last month, I believe, with Viktor Sagalovsky, who is the CEO of Light Water,
00;11;13;16 - 00;11;20;19
Dr. Mike Belkowski: deuterium-depleted water. And we mentioned in that episode that BioLight and Light Water have made a
00;11;20;19 - 00;11;39;23
Dr. Mike Belkowski: business partnership together. And one of the main reasons I wanted to form that with Light Water was to get access to their deuterium-depleted water, which is the lowest on Earth at 10 ppm, and to integrate that into our BioBlue products and others, as appropriate.
00;11;39;25 - 00;12;05;29
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So that is the first change that we’ll mention in today’s podcast: for all of the BioBlue products going forward, they’re all going to be made with 100% Light Water deuterium-depleted water. So why does that matter? Well, normal water—typically the stuff that comes out of your faucet—is about 150–155 ppm deuterium.
00;12;06;02 - 00;12;36;25
Dr. Mike Belkowski: And again, Light Water is 10 ppm, about 93–94% lower. And I believe Viktor said that the threshold you want to get your body deuterium level to is 120 ppm or lower (parts per million). So the quickest way to do that is drinking deuterium-depleted water. And the reason why drinking deuterium-depleted water—or just depleting deuterium in your body—is especially beneficial is because deuterium,
00;12;36;25 - 00;12;52;19
Dr. Mike Belkowski: as Viktor explained (this isn’t technically precise, but more or less), deuterium is almost twice as heavy as protium, and wherever biology expects fast, lightweight proton transfers, deuterium—being almost twice as big—
00;12;52;22 - 00;13;17;17
Dr. Mike Belkowski: slows things down: the kinetic isotope effect. This alters enzyme rates, proton channeling, and most notably the rotary motors. And we know that Complex V in the mitochondria, ATP synthase, is where protons are funneling through this rotary motor thousands of times per second.
00;13;17;19 - 00;13;38;05
Dr. Mike Belkowski: And again, if deuterium is funneling through this—it’s like a gear in a bike or a gear in a watch—if these small protons are funneling through very quickly, and then a particle that’s almost twice as big comes into the picture, it’s going to gunk up that rotary motor. And all those little hiccups in the gear slow down your ATP production and produce more reactive oxygen species.
00;13;38;12 - 00;14;00;24
Dr. Mike Belkowski: And again, if that’s going on in one mitochondrion, what’s going on in the vast majority of your mitochondria if your body is at a higher deuterium level? There’s a clear delineation in the research that higher deuterium levels lead to higher rates of diseases and cancers, and if you get it below a certain threshold—I think Viktor said about 120 ppm in that conversation—if you get it below 120 ppm, that is essentially the line in the sand
00;14;00;24 - 00;14;06;08
Dr. Mike Belkowski: where, if you get to 120 or below, you’re basically at dramatically reduced risk.
00;14;06;11 - 00;14;27;22
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So as far as an anti-aging, longevity tactic or strategy, lowering your deuterium should be one of the top priorities on your list, given the
00;14;27;22 - 00;14;30;12
Dr. Mike Belkowski: expected benefits.
00;14;30;12 - 00;14;33;26
Dr. Mike Belkowski: And so again, it’s back to the story of the mitochondria in terms of deuterium-depleted water,
00;14;33;26 - 00;14;46;24
Dr. Mike Belkowski: and that’s why we’re adding Light Water to all of our BioBlue liquid products. It’s a further way to enhance the overarching,
00;14;46;24 - 00;14;48;15
Dr. Mike Belkowski: mitochondrial-centric motif that we’re going for at
00;14;48;15 - 00;14;51;21
Dr. Mike Belkowski: BioLight.
00;14;51;21 - 00;14;52;22
Dr. Mike Belkowski: And so it’d be silly to continue to add water that is not deuterium-depleted when we have the option
00;14;52;24 - 00;15;01;23
Dr. Mike Belkowski: and the desire to do so.
00;15;01;23 - 00;16;33;22
[Section omitted for silence or transitions per original timestamps]
00;16;33;22 - 00;16;56;06
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So in essence, adding this deuterium-depleted water—adding Light Water—to BioBlue, here’s what you would notice functionally: higher ATP efficiency at the same workload (meaning less fatigue for the same output), lower baseline ROS, and less need to over-recruit antioxidants for the same energy yield.
00;16;56;06 - 00;17;04;04
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So less ROS production means less reliance on antioxidants—both endogenous and exogenous
00;17;04;04 - 00;17;32;01
Dr. Mike Belkowski: antioxidants. And then you have tighter membrane-potential stability, and this favors healthy autophagy and mitochondrial biogenesis signaling without tipping into mitochondrial permeability-transition pore opening. And just know that pore opening is not a good thing. So anything you can do to improve mitochondrial function will assist that, and deuterium-depleted water is no different.
00;17;32;03 - 00;17;41;00
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So how does deuterium-depleted water amplify the BioBlue ingredients? With methylene blue,
00;17;41;00 - 00;18;12;08
Dr. Mike Belkowski: methylene blue shuttles electrons and re-oxidizes NADH to NAD⁺ while bypassing chokepoints—especially Complex I. With deuterium-depleted water, the downstream proton leg runs with less isotopic drag. All of that means methylene-blue electron traffic translates into ATP more cleanly and with less ROS. As it relates to NMN, NMN expands NAD⁺ pools, which means you have more
00;18;12;08 - 00;18;14;12
Dr. Mike Belkowski: potential for biogenesis.
00;18;14;15 - 00;18;37;17
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Sirtuin activation and other types of physiological repair and biogenesis are only as useful as the quality of the new mitochondria, and low-deuterium water improves the proton circuits those new mitochondria are built to use. So essentially you get more mitochondria and better-coupled ones when we integrate deuterium-depleted water with NMN.
00;18;37;17 - 00;18;40;11
Dr. Mike Belkowski: And then, as it relates to colloidal gold, gold nanoclusters act as electron-transfer mediators and stabilizers.
00;18;40;11 - 00;18;48;24
Dr. Mike Belkowski: With deuterium-depleted water’s faster proton hand-offs, you get better redox–proton coupling—i.e., less slippage between electron flow and proton return.
00;18;48;26 - 00;19;21;23
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So, in the end, deuterium-depleted water doesn’t just make the mitochondria go faster—it helps them run truer or more cleanly, with higher coupling efficiency, less oxidative wear, and better long-term cellular resilience. Okay, so that’s the first major update: we’re switching from
00;19;21;23 - 00;19;25;18
Dr. Mike Belkowski: bio-photonic structured water to Light Water
00;19;25;20 - 00;19;56;23
Dr. Mike Belkowski: 10 ppm deuterium-depleted water. The second update—and this isn’t a change in ingredient; it’s a change in the quantity of the ingredient—and that is specifically NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide). The original version of BioBlue was giving you the same quantity in milligrams as you were getting in methylene blue. So, in a single dosage of BioBlue, you’re getting 10 mg of methylene blue
00;19;56;24 - 00;20;10;19
Dr. Mike Belkowski: and you’re also getting 10 mg of NMN. The initial thought was not to provide a therapeutic dosage of NMN, but again, to provide almost a homeopathic, synergistic
00;20;10;19 - 00;20;24;22
Dr. Mike Belkowski: dose or level of NMN. But after a lot of consideration, research, and logistics, we are going to significantly increase that dosage of NMN.
00;20;24;22 - 00;20;45;04
Dr. Mike Belkowski: We’re going from 10 mg twice per day to 100 mg twice per day. So we’re moving from this micro-dose of NMN to a more clinically relevant, functional dose that actually shifts intracellular NAD⁺ metabolism.
00;20;45;04 - 00;20;58;14
Dr. Mike Belkowski: One of the few molecules that is just notorious in the longevity population especially is NMN—or some type of NAD⁺ precursor; NMN is one of the strongest ones there.
00;20;58;16 - 00;21;23;29
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So in order, again, to make BioBlue an even more robust mitochondrial/ longevity supplement, we’re going to 10x the NMN quantity. Again, from 10 mg twice a day to 100 mg twice per day. This leads to NAD⁺ pool expansion. And since NMN is the immediate precursor
00;21;23;29 - 00;21;24;21
Dr. Mike Belkowski: for NAD⁺,
00;21;24;21 - 00;21;33;00
Dr. Mike Belkowski: going tenfold higher raises the cytosolic and mitochondrial NAD⁺:NADH ratio.
00;21;33;02 - 00;21;58;02
Dr. Mike Belkowski: All of that fancy talk means it drives Complex I electron entry more efficiently, enhances ATP yield per oxygen molecule, and keeps redox-cycling molecules like methylene blue in their active forms longer. At 10 mg, this was negligible for the above,
00;21;58;02 - 00;22;10;02
Dr. Mike Belkowski: but at 200 mg/day, this leads to measurable increases in NAD⁺ (~20–40%) shown in human studies.
00;22;10;05 - 00;22;26;14
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So again, this alone leads to a huge increase in benefit for the BioBlue supplement. Increasing your NAD⁺ by 20–40% cannot be overstated. That makes a huge difference to your daily energy levels,
00;22;26;14 - 00;22;40;23
Dr. Mike Belkowski: the daily impact of your mitochondria running more smoothly, having that constant NAD⁺ pool—that’s a big deal. Moving along this track for NAD⁺, it also leads to mitochondrial biogenesis signaling:
00;22;41;00 - 00;23;14;20
Dr. Mike Belkowski: higher NAD⁺ levels activate SIRT1, which increases PGC-1α, the master switch for mitochondrial biogenesis. Anything we can do to improve PGC-1α will enhance biogenesis. And again, part of the name of the game in mitochondrial health is producing new, effective mitochondria consistently.
00;23;14;22 - 00;23;19;11
Dr. Mike Belkowski: You want that consistent influx of new, healthy, functional
00;23;19;11 - 00;23;42;09
Dr. Mike Belkowski: “motors,” if you will, because they’re constantly turning over. We lose roughly 1% of our energy production per year on average. So over the course of a decade, you’re losing ~10% of your energy capacity. Anything we can do to bolster mitochondrial function will mitigate that—potentially even reverse it—
00;23;42;09 - 00;23;44;24
Dr. Mike Belkowski: via different mitochondrial strategies.
00;23;44;26 - 00;24;08;24
Dr. Mike Belkowski: And if we get inside the mitochondria and tweak your NAD⁺ levels—especially once you get beyond 30 or mid-30s—maintaining energy is the name of the game, because increased energy equals increased healthspan. So increasing NAD⁺ levels is a huge deal. But enhancing your capacity to produce new mitochondria?
00;24;08;27 - 00;24;10;22
Dr. Mike Belkowski: That’s a huge deal.
00;24;10;22 - 00;24;21;13
Dr. Mike Belkowski: It leads to greater density of oxidative fibers and cristae surface area, improved long-term energy resilience, and metabolic flexibility. At 10 mg
00;24;21;13 - 00;24;31;25
Dr. Mike Belkowski: twice per day, you weren’t getting these benefits we’re mentioning; the goal at 10 mg was more of a synergistic nudge with the other ingredients.
00;24;31;27 - 00;25;04;22
Dr. Mike Belkowski: But now, at 200 mg/day, we’re getting these benefits—increased NAD⁺ pools, increased mitochondrial-biogenesis signaling, and also enhanced DNA repair and proteostasis. NAD⁺ fuels PARP and SIRT6 enzymes, both of which are responsible for repairing nuclear and mitochondrial DNA double-strand breaks, remodeling histones, and maintaining chromatin integrity.
00;25;04;25 - 00;25;35;29
Dr. Mike Belkowski: And lastly, both are responsible for slowing epigenetic drift, which is key to longevity signaling. Thus, this higher NMN dosing moves BioBlue from supportive to genuinely reparative territory. And lastly, the significant increase in NMN leads to enhanced mitophagy and turnover. Elevated NAD⁺ enhances autophagic clearance of damaged mitochondria—i.e., mitophagy—the end result being a younger, cleaner mitochondrial network and a lower ROS burden.
00;25;51;27 - 00;25;55;13
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So how does this increased NMN integration
00;25;55;13 - 00;26;27;24
Dr. Mike Belkowski: synergize with methylene blue? Methylene blue works downstream as a redox bridge in the electron transport chain, while NMN increases the upstream supply of NAD⁺ electrons. When both are at functional levels, methylene blue keeps electron traffic moving through the Complex I-to-III bypass, and NMN ensures there are plenty of NAD⁺ “cars” on the track.
00;26;27;27 - 00;26;50;09
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So you get smoother, more continuous ATP generation and less electron leak (less oxidative stress). At 10 mg of NMN per dose, that synergy was limited; at 100 mg per dose, NMN becomes biochemically meaningful. Now the
00;26;50;09 - 00;26;54;26
Dr. Mike Belkowski: NMN is providing a therapeutic dosage.
00;26;54;28 - 00;26;55;12
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Now the
00;26;55;12 - 00;27;04;10
Dr. Mike Belkowski: NMN is becoming biochemically meaningful, yielding that ~20–40% increase in NAD⁺, mitochondrial biogenesis signaling, enhanced DNA repair and proteostasis, enhanced mitophagy and mitochondrial turnover—and a much more beautiful blend and integration with methylene blue.
00;27;04;10 - 00;27;38;07
Dr. Mike Belkowski: To wrap up the 10x NMN increase in our BioBlue products going forward: significant increase in the NAD⁺:NADH ratio, appreciable increase in SIRT1/SIRT3 activity, baseline PGC-1α biogenesis at 10 mg vs. activated PGC-1α at 100 mg, supported DNA repair/proteostasis at 100 mg (vs. under-fueled at 10 mg),
00;27;38;13 - 00;27;44;08
Dr. Mike Belkowski: and
00;27;44;08 - 00;28;08;04
Dr. Mike Belkowski: activated mitophagy and mitochondrial turnover at 100 mg (vs. weak at 10 mg). In terms of functional ATP output—and the byproduct of metabolic water—10 mg was pretty marginal; at 100 mg per dose, that output is elevated and steadier. This is a huge win from a bioenergetic perspective—and that’s the name of the game in terms of what I’m trying to bring
00;28;08;07 - 00;28;14;11
Dr. Mike Belkowski: to the public and to the market: ways to really optimize mitochondrial function and one’s redox potential,
00;28;14;11 - 00;28;38;01
Dr. Mike Belkowski: which all boils down to enhancing your bioenergetic production—meaning more energy produced
00;28;38;01 - 00;28;53;03
Dr. Mike Belkowski: per cell. To bring this to a close and summarize the NMN change in one sentence: 10 mg twice per day was a trace metabolic nudge; 100 mg twice per day is now a real mitochondrial optimization protocol that supports redox cycling, biogenesis, and longevity pathways in a quantifiable way.
00;28;53;03 - 00;29;00;07
Dr. Mike Belkowski: The next ingredient is a new addition to the BioBlue liquid. Here’s the giveaway: it’s the only other ingredient in the BioBlue capsules—that’s taurine. We’re adding 100 mg of taurine per serving. This helps transform the BioBlue liquid from a purely redox/biogenesis formula into more of a mitochondrial stability and longevity system.
00;29;00;07 - 00;29;37;11
Dr. Mike Belkowski: If we just compare to the original BioBlue formula with no taurine, the implication of that formula was: nice high electron flow between methylene blue and the micro-dose NMN, but little structural or membrane support, so more prone to oxidative or calcium stress. With the new formula, integrating 100 mg taurine twice a day, this adds osmolyte, antioxidant, and mitochondrial-membrane-stabilizing support,
00;29;37;13 - 00;30;12;18
Dr. Mike Belkowski: reducing cellular stress and enhancing endurance, detox, and longevity signaling. First, mitochondrial membrane integrity & osmotic stability: taurine acts as a biological osmolyte, maintaining volume and ion balance inside the cell and within mitochondria,
00;30;12;20 - 00;30;18;20
Dr. Mike Belkowski: helping preserve the mitochondrial membrane potential, crucial for ATP synthesis and metabolic-water production. Without taurine, increased electron flux from methylene blue + NMN could raise ROS or trigger calcium overload; taurine buffers both by stabilizing inner-membrane permeability transition pores. Translation: this upgraded BioBlue runs higher mitochondrial throughput (thanks to MB + NMN) without membrane burnout (thanks to taurine).
00;30;18;20 - 00;30;23;16
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Second, mitochondrial protein synthesis & translation fidelity:
00;30;23;16 - 00;30;28;19
Dr. Mike Belkowski: taurine modifies specific mitochondrial tRNAs, essential for accurate translation of key ETC proteins. Taurine deficiency leads to respiratory-chain inefficiency and fragmented mitochondria; restoring those modifications ensures clean, fully functional ETC subunits—so NMN/NAD⁺ and methylene-blue electron cycling deliver optimal output.
00;30;28;19 - 00;30;36;14
Dr. Mike Belkowski: In other words, taurine ensures every new mitochondrion built via NMN → SIRT1 → PGC-1α is high-quality hardware—no leaky parts.
00;30;36;14 - 00;30;38;29
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Third, calcium homeostasis & ROS buffering:
00;30;39;01 - 00;30;56;17
Dr. Mike Belkowski: mitochondria handle intracellular calcium buffering, but too much calcium opens the transition pore and collapses ATP production. Taurine moderates calcium uptake and prevents overload-induced depolarization. It also directly scavenges HOCl and superoxide radicals, reducing oxidative wear from methylene-blue-driven redox cycling. Net: the new BioBlue can safely deliver redox acceleration without triggering calcium stress or oxidative flare.
00;30;56;17 - 00;31;19;06
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Fourth, mitochondrial signaling & longevity: taurine enhances SIRT1 and AMPK activity (synergistic with NMN). This improves autophagy and mitophagy. In mouse models, taurine supplementation increased lifespan ~10–15% and improved glucose, lipid, and mitochondrial markers. It also reduces ER stress, tightening the link between cytosolic redox balance and mitochondrial output.
00;31;19;09 - 00;32;06;04
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Tissue-level/systemic effects at 200 mg/day (100 mg twice daily):
• Brain: neuroprotection, membrane stability, reduced excitotoxicity, improved neuronal ATP.
• Heart: improved contractility, mitochondrial calcium handling, protection from ischemic/oxidative stress.
• Muscle: better endurance, reduced fatigue via stabilized mitochondrial redox and pH.
• Liver: enhanced bile-acid conjugation → improved detox and mitochondrial β-oxidation.
• Skin & eyes: antioxidant protection of retinal and dermal mitochondria—synergistic with MB’s photodynamic properties.
00;32;06;06 - 00;32;25;05
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Bottom line: adding 100 mg taurine twice daily turns BioBlue from a high-performance redox energizer into a complete mitochondrial longevity formula: enhanced energy (MB), enhanced NAD⁺ biogenesis (NMN ↑ from 10 mg to 100 mg), increased structural stability & resilience (taurine), all in a low-deuterium water matrix.
00;32;25;05 - 00;32;37;16
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Next, we increased colloidal gold from 0.4 μg per serving to 0.6 μg per serving—+50% bioavailable ionic/nanocluster gold (still at trace level), enough to amplify gold’s electronic and enzymatic resonance effects.
00;32;37;18 - 00;33;30;03
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Why gold matters here: colloidal gold exhibits plasmonic conduction—oscillating surface electrons in resonance with electromagnetic fields (including red/near-infrared light), modulating electron-transport dynamics and membrane potentials. Mechanistically, gold particles can facilitate electron tunneling between redox centers (Complex I→III) or antioxidant enzymes; gold can act as temporary electron reservoirs, reducing local redox stress when the ETC is overloaded. Result: smoother electron flow and fewer free-radical spillovers.
00;33;30;03 - 00;33;58;26
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Studies (mostly in vitro/animal) show gold nanoclusters increase cytochrome-c-oxidase (Complex IV) activity (improved oxygen utilization/ATP generation), boost SOD and catalase activity (endogenous antioxidant defenses), and stabilize membrane-bound ATP synthase by reducing oxidative lipid damage. Net: higher OXPHOS efficiency with lower ROS per ATP.
00;33;58;26 - 00;34;03;25
Dr. Mike Belkowski: There’s also plasmonic-resonance synergy with methylene blue and light:
00;34;03;25 - 00;34;15;21
Dr. Mike Belkowski: MB absorbs around 660 nm; gold nanoparticles have tunable plasmon peaks in the visible/NIR region. Trace gold can enhance photonic coupling when you perform red-light therapy, amplifying local energy absorption and possibly improving MB’s photodynamic efficiency—creating micro-localized “antenna” effects that accelerate electron re-entry into Complex IV.
00;34;15;21 - 00;34;20;24
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Why 0.6 μg? Below 0.2 μg is often too low for meaningful modulation; 0.3–0.8 μg per serving is a sweet spot for redox tuning and enzymatic activation; above ~0.8–1.0 μg risks redox imbalance/aggregation. At 0.6 μg, we sit squarely in that resonant sweet zone—well below any toxic thresholds.
00;34;20;24 - 00;34;35;28
Dr. Mike Belkowski: In short, the gold increase improves electron conductivity, Complex IV efficiency, ATP output, photodynamic capacity with R/NIR light, protects critical enzymes from oxidation, and adds a bioelectronic-coherence layer for long-term redox stability and longevity signaling. It organizes electrons—it doesn’t just add them.
00;34;36;00 - 00;35;18;16
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Now, colloidal silver: like gold, we’re increasing it by 50%—from 0.2 μg to 0.4 μg per serving. Still well within the nutraceutical micro-dose zone, far below antimicrobial toxicity ranges (that’s not the goal). At very low concentrations, silver ions interact with thiol groups on enzymes/proteins, modulating electron transfer and antimicrobial-defense pathways in a regulatory manner.
00;35;18;18 - 00;35;58;18
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Silver nanoclusters can catalytically decompose superoxide and peroxides—behaving like nano-SOD/peroxidase mimetics—which helps maintain the NADPH–glutathione balance under MB-driven redox cycling, keeping the cell in a reduced, protected state. It also subtly stabilizes membrane charge and mitochondrial membrane potential at micro-ppm levels.
00;35;58;20 - 00;36;29;00
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Synergies:
• With MB: quenches residual radicals and helps prevent dysbiosis → cleaner redox cycling, fewer inflammatory byproducts.
• With NMN/NAD⁺: reduces peroxides that would drain NADPH → higher effective NAD⁺ utilization for repair/biogenesis.
• With taurine: both modulate mitochondrial permeability and calcium flux → stronger membrane-potential resilience and osmotic stability.
• With fulvic acid: fulvic chelates silver into organometallic complexes → improved absorption, minimized free-ion reactivity.
• With DDW (deuterium-depleted water): low-D water improves proton transfer, silver improves electronic conductivity → higher overall bioelectronic coherence.
00;36;29;02 - 00;36;51;27
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Dose-rationale: 0.1 μg is often too low; 0.2–0.5 μg per serving is an optimal biosignal range for enhanced antioxidant tone and antimicrobial balance; above ~1 μg you risk enzyme inhibition or accumulation. Moving from 0.2 → 0.4 μg sits in the hormetic optimum—strong enough for redox modulation, far below interference.
00;36;51;27 - 00;37;11;23
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Net effect: enhanced redox buffering, cleaner NAD⁺/NADPH metabolism, more stable mitochondrial membrane, reduced microbial/inflammatory burden, and improved bio-coherence with gold + DDW. Silver functions as a redox shield guarding the high-energy chemistry created with MB + NMN.
00;37;11;25 - 00;37;42;00
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Lastly in the stack, the Wujinsan purified fulvic acid. This is the only ingredient we’re throttling back—by about 40%—and here’s why that’s actually an upgrade. Wujinsan is unusually pure and has robust chelating/transport capacity. Reducing the per-serving amount tightens the formula’s focus, optimizes mineral redox balance, and improves synergy with MB, NMN, taurine, gold, and silver.
00;37;42;02 - 00;37;52;02
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Quick review of fulvic acid core mitochondrial functions:
-
Ultra-small organic acids with multiple carboxyl/phenolic groups → chelate & shuttle minerals/trace elements into cells and mitochondria.
-
Act as redox mediators (electron donors/acceptors).
-
Support membrane transport & buffering.
-
Regenerate antioxidants (e.g., glutathione, CoQ10).
-
Facilitate detox of heavy metals and metabolic by-products.
00;37;52;02 - 00;38;24;00
Dr. Mike Belkowski: At balanced, lower doses, these actions enhance mitochondrial performance; at higher doses, they can compete with electron carriers or over-mobilize metals—especially relevant when we’ve intentionally increased gold and silver. By trimming fulvic, we minimize redox noise (so MB maintains its optimal oxidized/reduced rhythm) and minimize metal-chelation competition (keeping gold/silver bioavailable for redox/plasmonic activity).
00;38;24;02 - 00;39;03;16
Dr. Mike Belkowski: So lowering Wujinsan fulvic acid by ~40% doesn’t weaken BioBlue—it sharpens it. We move from a broad-spectrum mineralized base to a targeted redox conductor that perfectly complements DDW + NMN + Taurine + Gold + Silver + MB. Outcome: cleaner electron flow, steadier membrane potential, improved NAD⁺ economy, and smoother long-term bioenergetic stability.
00;39;03;18 - 00;39;37;16
Dr. Mike Belkowski: That concludes the review of the new, updated, upgraded BioBlue formulations. All of those ingredient changes apply to BioBlue, BioBlue SR, BioBlue Lucho, and BioBlue Calm going forward. The only caveat is—as always with BioBlue Calm—there is no NMN.

00;41;59;29 - 00;42;13;18
Dr. Mike Belkowski: I hope as we went through the various updates and upgrades you’re excited if you’re currently using BioBlue—and that you understand the how and the why behind these decisions. Honestly, I was excited just to upgrade BioBlue by using all deuterium-depleted water from Light Water—that alone is a huge deal—but then the 10x NMN, adding taurine, and modulating gold, silver, and fulvic to refine the formula…
00;42;13;25 - 00;42;21;14
Dr. Mike Belkowski: it’s going to be amazing to hear your feedback. It’s further optimization for mitochondrial support. If you need to, go back and listen again—we covered a lot.
00;42;21;14 - 00;42;26;15
Dr. Mike Belkowski: Each one of those changes individually enhances BioBlue’s mitochondrial-support effect.
00;42;26;15 - 00;42;21;14 (sic – preserved timing order as given)
00;42;21;14 - 00;42;26;15 (continuation already above)
00;42;26;15 - 00;42;57;03
Dr. Mike Belkowski: But in culmination, they lead to a massive upgrade to the BioBlue supplements. I’m very excited and proud to have these new formulations ready to rock and roll for you guys—and I can’t wait to hear your feedback. And by the way, we’re still cooking here at BioLight.
